It's a dark, rainy morning here.

I got up this morning after only sleeping for a couple hours and made Billy a pancake breakfast.  I sat with him with my cup of tea and we chatted about what he was excited about, what he was nervous about, his directions, his hotel for tonight, how much I was going to miss him.  This saying goodbye to your kids is NOT an easy thing!!!!  I'm so happy he's getting to do this though.  It's a great opportunity for him.  As soon as Billy drove away, I turned away from the door with tears in my eyes and Tommy said, "well, 3 down, 1 to go"  Cheesy Cheesy  I told him it wasn't funny and I wanted all my babies back with me right now! Smiley

Now on to preparing Doug for his trip south.  He'll be leaving tomorrow so I have to get all his clothes and food organized for him.

I'm going to the library to pick up some audio books for Doug for his trip.  I'll go to our farmer's market while I'm out too.

Tommy is spending the day working on his paper.  It's due tomorrow Shocked  He's hoping to have the rough draft finished today and then spend tomorrow on revisions and a rewrite.  I'm sure he'll be breathing a sigh of relief when this is finished.

I'm going to bake something sweet for the weekend.  Probably some chocolate chip cookies and maybe a pound cake.

I'm going to get going on the ripple afghan I'm making Andrew and Hannah this afternoon.  I don't have the changing colors thing down pat. I'm hoping to find a better method for that since I change colors every other row.  I guess I'll look around on the internet for some tips.

Dinner tonight is steak, baked potatoes, corn, and zucchini.

I hope you all have a nice, relaxing weekend!

Good morning Ann and all who follow,

Ann I agree with you on the kids leaving, it's hard.

Well we got the blizzard they were calling for. Looks like two feet of snow and heavy. I tried to make a path on the back deck for
the cat and almost couldn't get the door open. It was that high Shocked  My daughter lives in Clarksville (TN) and she said Nashville got
hit with the tornado, they didn't. While I'm thankful for that, I feel back for all those who have damage.

Made fried eggs, sausage patties and biscuts for breakfast, were going to need energy to dig out from all this snow. Need to make a path to the bird feeder so i can put out a suet cake, and laundry at some point. Going to hold off on the shower until we shovel, no use showering and then getting all sweated up  Wink

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

Good Morning Ann and Laura and all our other Friends,
Praying that all of you stayed out of harms way yesterday with the storms.Thought about all of you in those states, and said some prayers.
Well we had planned to go to a pancake breakfast at our community building, then we had a wedding to go to... not gonna happen Nick woke up with a stomach virus and we don't want to share it with the town or the newlyweds. So we will just stay home. I feel so bad for Nick.
Yesterday was nice just hanging out at home, finally went to bank to put the paychecks in but that was it.
Hope all You Ladies have a wonderful weekend.
Love you all,Linda

Morning Ladies!

It's still kind of dark and dreary here as well, after last night's thunderstorms and rain, but it's supposed to be fairly clear and nice today.  I got my daisy patch, as well as a long window box planter, a hanging planter, and a small pot all full of daisies planted yesterday, so that rain came at the perfect time!  Can you tell I love daisies Cheesy?  Jean went over to his current job this morning to finish up, but shouldn't be there too long.  He put in some of the most beautiful linen-finish tiles in the bathroom he's doing.  I told him to remember where he got them so we could maybe use them someday Wink.

Today I need to do some maintenance cleaning and finish up a knitting job (6 dishcloths).  Tonight we're collecting all of our Papa John's free pizza awards points and coupon codes and ordering pizza for dinner, so it's a pretty easy day all around!  W signed up for their rewards program, so we get a point for every dollar we spend, and after 25 points we get a free large, 3-topping pizza.  Also, since we're rewards members we were automatically signed up for the 'Super Bowl coin toss' promotion, and receive a free pizza and 2-liter Pepsi from that.  Looking forward to all that free, yummy pizza!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Good morning ladies,

Thank you for all the birthday wishes. They made my day. Well, it was not the day I had planned in my head, but still a fine day. Cheesy We decided to go check out riding mowers at the local John Deere dealership. We ended up getting a nicer mower and better warranty for a couple hundred more dollars. So we will soon have a shiny green mower. I am quite excited about it. I think Kevin is still in sticker shock. LOL

After the mower buying trip, I cut him a break and let him stay home while I grocery shopped. Now talk about sticker shock! Oh my, eating gluten free is going to be expensive. Sad  I am about ready to say I am just going to eat meat, veggies, fruit, and dairy. I am attempting to make bread without gluten grains. May not be worth it, but I will give it a try this weekend.

These storms are so heart breaking. I don't ever remember having this many tornadoes in the last of Feb. and first of Mar. I read that these are being caused by our very mild winter. So sad.

I finished Kevin's quilt on Friday. Callie has given it her seal of approval. She stays curled up on it. That's my cat.  Grin

Ann, I know how hard it is to let them go. I'll say a prayer for safe travel for Billy.
Linda, I hope Nick feels better soon.
Erica, I hope Brandon is improving.
Laura, don't overdo it with the digging out.
Teresa, please let me know how you guys are doing.

Well, since yesterday was basically spent running around, Kevin told me to take today and just piddle. I am taking him up on it. Grin Everyone have a good day. Thinking of you all.

Blessings,
Winona

Good afternoon!

It's been a productive day here so far. My PBS cooking shows were not on...it was all high school basketball. Blech. Tongue  Nothing against high school basketball, but really? ALL DAY LONG? And when the cooking shows are only ever shown Saturday morning, that's a bummer.

Instead, I cleaned out and organized my coupon binder, finished making ice cream (I'm making it ahead to use for Shamrock shakes on 3/17), started a pot of pinto beans, started a spicy beef roast in the crock pot, pressure canned pinto beans....and am now catching up online.

Honey and Thomas left for town about an hour ago. They are going back to work more on the volunteer building for the Home Depot team. One of the elementary schools applied for and was granted a grant for building materials to build a covered lunch area. There are lots of volunteers from the store there building it for them. He and Thomas went last week and really enjoyed being a part of it.

Rebecca came home early from school yesterday. They closed at 10:30...so she drove 2 hours to be at school for an hour. They spent a good part of that hour in the bathrooms riding out a passing storm. Thankfully, they did not have any damage at the school. Sadly, areas that were hard hit last April sustained more damage yesterday. Sad  We only had wind (and WIND!) with periods of really heavy rain.

Ann, I'm in tears at this moment....I am not there yet and I want to run screaming from the place of having my babes not here with me. I know it's gonna happen whether I like it or not...but I am SO not ready for it. (((hugs))) to you, my friend!

Linda, sorry to hear Nick has a tummy bug. No fun at all. Sad

Mandy, enjoy that free pizza! Smiley

Winona, wow...a shiny new green tractor....enjoy! Smiley And HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!

Laura, snow! We didn't get but one dusting of snow this year. Strange, last year we had the biggest snow that had been seen in some time...this year, it's nearly shorts weather in February.

Have a great afternoon!

Blessings,
Laurie

I stayed up until the news quit broadcasting tornado warnings near our area - about 1 am this morning.  There were tornadoes in Georgia last night, but not in our area.  Hoping everyone was okay.

It was so hot here yesterday....now it's so cold.  The girls were riding bikes and came in feeling like ice pops - this flip flopping of the weather is crazy.

Hoping everyone is having a wonderful weekend.
