It is only 44 days until Christmas.  Are we getting ready?  I still need to buy stocking stuffers and a few little things for Warren.  I have finished the kids.  I think I probably should buy some things for the cousins.  I don't know yet.

I forgot to say that I have also started decorating.  It will take me several days, if not weeks to get it all decorated.  Joshua  loves Christmas, so I really want to decorate it up this year for him.

I am not completely ready but feel very good with the progress I have made and the plan I have to get it all done.  I am finalizing my big Amazon order for CD's, DVD's, Modern Warfare 3, books, etc and will get that ordered on Monday.

All that I need to do locally is to get by the place that my Mom has her massages and get her a gift card and then figure out how to do a subscription for ancestry.com for my Dad.  It is Sam's responsibility to get to the store and get Aaron some ammo for his gun and a wallet that holds a 5-point star badge so Aaron can carry his badge when he's off duty since he carries his gun just about everywhere he goes.

We don't decorate until hmmm.....I don't know.  I hate to decorate for Christmas and if Sam and I ever come close to violence in our marriage, it's over Christmas decorating.  (That is an exaggeration on the violence part but man, can we loose our tempers over stupid Christmas tree lights.  Cheesy)  Caylon usually decorates for me but she is living on her own this year so she probably dont' want to decorate my house and hers.   Cry

I haven't started on my baking yet but that won't be far off.  I have all my ingredients, I just need the time to actually get it done.

Cathie, you are doing good.  Tell Jay that the kids will only be little for a short time and wouldn't it be great for them to have memories of lights?  Warren is already planning on putting them on the house.  I hear you about the tree.  We had a real one several years ago and the thing was dead before Christmas.  I like my fake one!!!!!

I ordered Warren a tv dvd set for his Christmas.  He got an expensive birthday/anniversary/Christmas present back in September.  He told me not to buy him anything for Christmas, but I had to get him something to open  Wink.

I hope to get some more decorating done today.

Is everyone baking now and freezing it?  Does it come out of the freezer fresh?

We haven't had lights on the house in about 2 yrs and I really miss it. Last year the one weekend it was nice enough to get out there without freezing to death we were slam packed busy and couldn't get to it, after that it felt like the second ice age was moving in with the terrible winds and it stayed bitter cold until spring, the year before I was preggers with Kara and I just had way to much to do with trying to get ready for christmas and her birth which was 3 days after christmas.

THIS YEAR THIS IS MY YEAR!!!I don't think it will be hard to convince him, Kara will be 2 and she is at that precious, full of wonder age and she is already excited by the giant blow up santas the stores have on display and so being she is daddy's girl I think he will be happy to put them up!!!

I bought a brand new string of icicle lights at the Catholic Church sale for .75! Brand new, still in the box and plastic!

We have a balcony right above our porch,I am going to hang them up them,it will look like icicles dripping down!

i have my wreath for the door,I also got an electric candle for the living room window, want to get a little fake greenery to place
  around the candle.

I saw at Dollar General they have an outdoor light up nativity scene for 18.00,I'm thinking of getting that, landlord
has lots of scrap lumber, maybe I can nail together a primitive looking manger and that will be a nice outdoor display.

I was supposed to get a perm today, but that cancelled out,I thought I'd do the lights today, but hubby says it's too windy today
and it's going to be very windy tomorrow,so I guess I'll try to hang them next week.

We haven't done outside lights in many years, looking forward to seeing lights on our little log cabin! Cheesy

I can't believe I'm actually going to do this, but I plan on going to Wal-Mart
Thanksgiving night at 10 pm for the sales! Shocked Shocked

we have decided to get FIL some sweat suits for part of his Christmas, they will be on sale
starting Thanksgiving night for I think the sneak peek ad said 4.37 a piece,so it will be around
  9.00 per suit.

I hope it's not a madhouse at Wal-Mart that night,I really don't like trying to shop in big crowds.

I hear ya about the madness!  I sooo want this tv that is on sale for $199.  I hope we can get it...we shall see I guess.  I usually go out black friday but not for the really early stuff.  I just grab sheets, towels and cheap clothes for us.  We start our shopping that weekend for others too.  I guess we'll have to see what else is on sale that would make me go out at that time of night lol!

Joe went to an aucion last weekend and scored big time! He got all the kids a 4 or more things and too much for Little Joe. The extra will be saved for his birthday, yeah!

My siblings put in and we bought my Mom a Kindle. We are also joining together to get Grandmother her new glasses as a surprise!

All that leaves is stocking stuffers, Joe's mom, dad and sister! Oh and anything we choose to get for each other!

Much ahead of schedule and loving it,
Theresa

Edited to add that we also we also were given or won: a drum set made up of drum pads, 2 American Girl dolls, with some Thomas stuff coming soon! We are BLESSED!

i had to go thru a tote yesterday of christmas stuff the whole tote was ruined except three little ornaments a plaque chris got me our first christmas and  my led net lights for the christmas tree..   i was so upset cause a good majority of the stuff was things we  had since getting married and  some was from when i just a kid..  Cry now i'm on the search to try and replace them ..

I'm a total tree snob  i will readily admit it.. we have a real tree every year  .. i had a real one growing up till my brother and I were teenagers then my mom got a fake tree .. she got a new one last year as my brother and I surprised her with a new one  as he old one was getting pretty ratty ..   I have a feeling we will always have a real tree  it just doesnt seem like christmas without it..   I have  a stand that holds 3 days worth of water and besides the filling of it is chris's job..lol  every year chris takes one of the kids and "lets" them pick the tree    so its gotten to be a tradition..  that and the only fake tree i have seen that i like and looks real is about $700 and since that is deffiantely not in the budget.. a $20 real tree is my solution and we put it outside after and the birds use it..  last year it ended up beside our  deck and we had a partridge family living in it until spring thaw ..

I have done a lot of online ordering in the past week and went to the mall today to get a few gifts.  So far I have:

Molly's main gift (a doll that is created to look like her), accessories to go with the doll, 2 fashion design sets, a t-shirt design set and a puzzle game.

Madelyn's main gift (a North Face jacket), 2 pairs of sweatpants, 2 t-shirts, a pack of socks and a pair of moccasins.

Zachary's main gift (a pair of classic Converse sneakers) and 2 other pairs of shoes.

I have a magnetic paper doll set and a sticker set for one of Doug's nieces.

I have a large Amazon order that I will place next Monday and I will also order Corey's Nike gift card either this week or next Monday.

I still have quite a bit to go but at least I am making progress.  I am not even going to begin to tell you how much money we have spent so far because it is just downright embarrassing Tongue.
