I picked up crochet very easily and have done it for many years. I've done everything from hats to socks and they work up satisfyingly fast.  Now that I've started raising angoras and will be learning to spin this winter, I'm trying to learn to knit.  It took me a long time to get it decent looking and I can only do very simple stitches...but I think it's necessary for homespun yarn because it's more yarn efficient.

Where in MN do you live? I live in central MN. An hour North West of ST. Cloud. I have been thinking that I am the only one in the State here. Smiley
Marnita

We're in northern MN, right on Lake Superior, about three hours north of Minneapolis/St. Paul.

I started out learning to knit...I tried to learn how to crochet but for the life of me, I just couldn't get it!  While knitting makes perfect sense to me, crocheting was just baffling.  I didn't understand where to put the hook in, how to start a new row, how many chains to turn, etc.  Just a few months ago, I was annoyed that I couldn't crochet and so I printed off instructions, sat down with my hook and some yarn and was determined to learn!  I'm still not very good at it and it is still confusing to me, but at least I can now read a very simple pattern and create something!  In my experience it seems that people either really love knitting or really love crocheting.  Maybe love is the wrong word, maybe understand would be a better word there.  Now if I could just stick with one project and see it through to completion!  :Smiley  I think I have knitters ADD!

Thanks for that link Debbie.

I love that bag.  I may have to give one of them a try too.
